Casper Gubler in Evans Handcart Company.

On my mother's side, my grandfather Casper Gubler, age 21 and traveling alone,was assigned to travel across the plains with the 6th or Evans Handcart Company.They left Florence, Nebraska on June 13, 1857 and arrived in the valley on the 11-12of September, 1857. The Evans company consisted of 149 souls, 80 of whom were women and 28 were children under 6 years of age.
